Vaca Moana

To mark the inauguration of the Dome, an exhibition called “Vaca Moana” – The untold story of the world’s greatest exploration opened the same day, to tell the story of the ancient exploration of the pacific.

Two traditional Maori Wakas were on display outside of the museum presenting a unique photo opportunity.

Good news is that after New Zealand the exhibition will travel to Japan, Taiwan, Australia and the Netherlands, with negotiations under way to take it to France the US and Canada.

  1. The waka is so huge and built by hand…beautiful to look at. I hope I have the opportunity to see the exhibition if it comes to the states.

And, I cannot let the opportunity pass that will let me promote one of the best movies of all times, about the Maori and New Zealand: Whale Rider.

I talked about it on one New Zealand site but not sure if it was yours.

  2. I havent been here for a while and with your new photos you made me say WOW! I like your new wordpress style somehow here the photos look much better.

I really like your journalistic approach L! I’m not sure if it’s your intention but it’s great anyway. The three vertical aspects in this image make for a rather cool combination!
