Thanks to Paul from (Auckland-West daily photo) for letting me know that this sculpture is by Paul Dibble who is currently exhibiting at the Gow Langsford Gallery on Lorne Street. The sculpture is titled “Woodpigeon on a circle.

The renovated clock on the Auckland Art Gallery tower shows ten minutes to eight and the city is still in black and white.
The new wing of the gallery is under construction with just about an year to go

the take off
I stumbled upon this photograph that I’ve taken a while back. Its a seagull about to take off from the water feature at the entry of the Auckland Art Gallery.
This water feature is now long gone to make room for the extension of the gallery which is now taking off in turn.
I think about an year yet to go…
