The Ruawai Dairy, Kaipara
In New Zealand a small mixed grocery shop is known as a dairy.
Many are on street corners, so they are often referred to as the ‘corner dairy’.
The term ‘dairy’ only became commonly applied to small grocery shops from the late 1930s.

Wonderful image, nice tone and capture the essence of rural or small suburb in NZ.
Nice. Monochrome really suits the nostalgic look.
What were you doing up that way? I use to drive through there every day for work from maungaturoto to dargaville. the most boring drive I’ve ever been on.
And with the dwelling attached – truly self-contained. I love all the different lines here.
