In 1948 Nihotipu Dam in the Waitakere Ranges was the biggest in New Zealand. It is beautiful today.
I enjoyed watching and photographing the sunset a couple of days ago.

Although it is only a dam the picture is so poetic! Cheers, Lacho!
AMAZING CAPTURE!
I love the different shades of light on the surface of the water!
When I took a shot of the Lower Nihotupu in January, it was 100% full – water flowing over the lip of the spillway. This is quite a change, reflecting the long dry summer that you have documented in several posts (watercare’s website gives it as 78% full, with overall storage at 62%).
Incidentally – I would like to buy you a (non-virtual) coffee; name a time and place. You have my email.
