K Road revisited

DSC_3229-6This is Rendells of Karangahape Road. It was a department store at the time, and very fashionable at that…
It was designed by William Holman in a “Renaissance” style. The right hand side of the facade was built in 1904 and the left hand in 1911. You can perhaps notice the slightly different tone of the brickwork. – Visit My World Tuesday

  1. I haven’t been to K’Road in years, I remember the great clothing and ethnic shops they use to have down there.

  2. I mentioned the difference only because of your explanations. The building is nice, but the advertising line kills somehow the it’s elegance.
