    You are so right Sally, it is a Rosella! I believe there was a private collection of Australian parrots residing in Auckland some years ago, but they were let loose by an animal do-gooder – this little guy could be related to that lot. I definitely know Loriketes (sp) were involved. It is so strange to see him in a stark, leafless environment, but super in highlighting this wonderfully coloured bird. Brilliantly captured, great contrast.
