a yellow boat makes for a nice foreground to view the city, sometimes the blue is too much to bear…

I love the desaturated steel blues and grays paired with your vibrant yellow boat! Someday I’d like to convince you to give photog and postprocessing lessons for the rest of us. Would you ever consider giving an on-line class for the CDPBlogging community? Some of us would like to shoot like you when we grow up :-).

Today it strikes me how similar Seattle and Aukland’s skylines seem. Take a look at Chuck’s (One a Day Mostly Seattle) theme day post which features a yellow kayak. Maybe its the clouds. Hey, did you get to see Eric when he was in town?

Janet Frame called it Auckland’s “paradisal blue”. I’ve been here 10 years, originally from the UK, and I never tire of it.

Nice way to compliment the natural bluish daylight in this harbor and cityscape. Everything well positioned in the scene. Great clouds.

  • this is a wonderful photo. It has everything, great sky, interesting skyline, boats and a touch of yellow. You have a fun yellow theme wandering through your recent photos. well done!
