Lawrence Aberhart exhibition

Posted on 11 May 2008

I managed to make it to the Lawrence Aberhart photography exhibition right at the last day and spent the morning walking along the walls full of photographs over and over again as in a trance. Perhaps hoping that some of his so understated and yet so powerful artistic skill can somehow brush onto me… Later on browsing the internet I managed to find a fitting description of the way I felt in the words of David Eggleton: “Laurence Aberhart is the photographer as stalker of the Beautiful and the Sublime, whose hyper-real photographs have an almost hallucinatory force.”
I managed to snap this shot just before being orderd to put my camera back in the bag.. rules…

I had same type of effect when watching the exhibition…
Also was so seductive for me the “visible” silence of each picture, something in between a lost memory and a dream…
