Autumn

This is a magical stretch of Symonds Street between Newton Road and Alex Evans Street. Quite a few shops have closed down or relocated, a couple of others are trying to revive the old vibrancy of the place, but in the meantime most of walls, fences and abandoned shopfronts have fallen prey to indiscriminate poster slapping to which I’m compulsively drawn. Of the many shots I’ve taken over a number early mornings, these 3 I’ll publish in the course of the following days I hope, manage to convey some of the feel of the place. This first shot called “Autumn” was captured looking towards Alex Evans Street.
