Today is the shortest day of the year! And, as the city adopts its gray winter colours, there is still some Autumn colours left in the Auckland parks where the early sun plays with the shadows of the leafless tree branches. This one taken last Sunday at the Auckland Domain

This date, your shortest day of the year, is our longest day of the year. And it was also a hot one here in southwestern Ohio where I live. I like your photograph.

I am back from my self-imposed vacation.
