Waiheke Island

A half an hour ferry ride takes you to Waiheke Island. Home to about 7000 people, gorgeous beaches, fine vineyards and expensive real estate. This is the view from the top of Matiatia bay. You can just about discern the Auckland skyline at the horizon…

You most probably know, Archilles Point is another good vantage point for similar shots. There a little hill within walking distance from the lookout that provides a good vantage point and when the sun’s position is right makes for great seascape images looking towards Rangitoto.
Gorgeous scenery. Auckland is as spectacular and beautiful as Sydney!
